CANINE TO FIVE DOGGY DAY CARE

FACADE RENOVATION

The façade design for Canine to Five stems from an analysis of financial, technical and programmatic constraints. In order to maximize the impact of a matching facade-improvement grant from Midtown Detroit Inc., the design employs a relatively low cost and environmentally friendly fiber cement rainscreen which stops water infiltration, updates appearances, and serves as a canvas for advertising.

Integrated lighting provides illumination in the absence of working street lights. A fresh color scheme and new signage create a clean and bright statement of vibrancy, helping to transform a blighted area.
